picture picture!

It's been a long while since I was shooting pictures editing photo's and blogging. lucky me I accidentally found one of my older blog accounts. So I said to my self what the heck, I might as well try blogging again.

I tried to blog about our recent trip to Puerto Princesa in Palawan. But I really had a hard time filling up those words with pictures. Of course, what better way to blog than to add pictures to give color to the places you are trying to describe. Like the old saying goes "to see is to believe"

People would only believe you about the places/things you are describing if you already have a picture to show. It's gonna be more inviting and people would be delighted in reading your blog. I remember when I was a kid and I used to watch my Dad read the morning news paper. He's my Idol so I act like him and try to read the paper as well, I always end up flipping through all the pages just to look at the pictures instead of actually reading the news.

So I was looking over these pictures that my friends captured while we we're in Palawan. it was like 800 pictures to choose from. some of 'em we're good for blogging and some of 'em weren't. And of course we have different preferences in taking pictures, there we're angles or shots I wish I had taken If I had a camera with me.

now what?
I need/want a new camera.

then i bumped into one of these.

Nikon Coolpix P100

looks like a dslr but it's not. it's just a dslr-like digicam

I'm hoping it's good.
10.3MP
26x Optical zoom

insane zoom capabilities I must say. So there, I tried looking up reviews about it, some we're good, some we're bad. I was also able to find a good deal for it at about Php 18,500 brand freakin' new. not bad for a dslr-like digital camera.

I'm still undecided though..
I have a few questions in my mind.
Is it worth the expense?
Am I gonna be satisfied with it?
Is it better to just invest my money to a real dslr?

What am I looking for in a camera anyway?

1. Image Quality. I hate noise.
2. Good close up  and wide angle shots.
3. Color Quality.
4. High ISO to be able to shoot better pictures at night even without a flash

besides those four. I don't really know anymore.

I most likely will be looking for upgrades next time around but I'm not a pro when it comes to dslr. I'm still part of the point and shoot kinda people. But of course everything can be learned. practice makes perfect.

Hoping to hear comments and suggestions from you guys :)

Thanks!
