This Day was solely meant for our Honda Bay tour. We hired a tour guide that took care of everything van transfer, lunch buffet and boat transfers as well as snorkeling goggles of course. All we had to do is bring ourselves and our cameras.
they picked us up around 7'ish in the morning and I woke up like quarter to seven hahaha! anyhow I got up to get a cup of coffee and ate some instant noodles in the room for breakfast. took my bag with towel and zip-lock for my phone.
 |
Off we go to Honda Bay! |
Upon arriving at the pier where our boat patiently awaits. We we're informed by our tour guide to buy some additional drinks, and other things that we may need because all she brought was our lunch food and drinks. Since it is a whole day escapade we bought some mineral water, some iced tea for me, some hair conditioner, some bread for the fishes in the island.
 |
I got some chicha as well for our trip hahaha! |
before we went aboard the boat of course we never forget to take pictures together. so there, with our green plastic bags full of drinks and bread

On our way |
 |
Bebot eXtreme |
Our first stop was "Pambato Reef" Our boat was tied to a platform made of bamboo and there is a bridge made out of bamboo going to the actual snorkeling spot. The platform is securely tied under the sea. strong cables hold it in place.
 |
at the Dock |
After the docking station, there is a bridge that connects it to the diving spot which looks like a big turtle which is really cute,

A view of the docking station |
This group of people I must say are true whores.. cam-whores that is. hahaha! So instead of enjoying the reef we instead took a few shots of ourselves. We did enjoy the reef a bit but there we're planktons which was kinda itchy while you're swimming. the view of the reef was really nice about 10-15 feet deep. Everyone was advised to wear the life vests while swimming in the reef.
 |
Someone got lost in the crowd of life vests. |
It was a challenge to swim with the vest on. I'm not a good swimmer but it's harder to swim with the vest on I must say, or my vest is smaller for my size. hahaha!
So off we go to our next stop.
the picture above is not mine. you can click on the caption to read the owners own blog. Amazing island isn't it?
 |
Snake Island |
Snake Island is not an island full of snakes but rather, an island that stretches at about 3 kilometers and is shaped like a snake.
There we're huts that line up the island that is used as shelter and picnic spot.
Snorkeling was fun at snake island. We we're allowed to take our vests off, finally!!!
This is where you get to feed the small fishes. and some big fishes too. We brought pieces of bread and went swimming over corals as we fed the fishes. They we're shy at first but the moment you tore some pieces and show it to them in a second you'd be surrounded by 100's of fishes all trying to get a bite off of your bread.
I actually enjoyed it here better than in Pambato Reef. The corals are not too deep and can clearly be seen.
I got into a little accident and hit my foot in one of the corals but all in all it was fun. I enjoyed it so much that I kept going back to our hut to get some more bread. There we're also this tiny black school of fishes who we're looking for food at the ground. They actually got my interest and I just kept watching them. I don't know what they are called but it was really nice seeing them. I watched them for sometime and they kept going together as they checked the sand for food.
 |
The Alluring Bread. haha! |
We we're hungry already and our tour guide was finished preparing our food.
By the way. Sea food? it's really inexpensive in Palawan I must say, You have to buy some before going home if you're going here.

Our tour guide/Cook |
So our menu for lunch was:

Tara! Let's Eat! |
After eating I still couldn't get enough of the fishes so I went back to feed some more. My arms we're aching already since some of us went swimming the night before the trip. I wanted to check out the whole snake island by walking but it was too hot and no one wants to go along with me. Instead we took more pictures as the cam-whores that we are.

chismisan moment :) |
after our kulitan moments and all that fun in the water we headed to our next stop.
the resort itself had this really nice snorkeling spot. with literally 100's of colorful fishes. although they weren't as friendly as the one's in Snake island, none the less it was a good place to snorkle. lots of corals which is about 5 to 10 feet deep. so the view is really crystal clear, although you have to be careful in stepping on top of those big corals because you might accidentally hit the spot, by that I mean sea urchins.
 |
Sample picture Only! for reference Only! |
So this is how a sea urchin looks like. they come in different colors and sizes and shapes. but they all have this thorn like protrutions from their body. This acts as their protection. In case you accidentally step on one. you'd be feeling a painful sting. anyhow, lets not talk much about that, just Google it
I was already tired from swimming here and there so we went for a P75 worth halo-halo at a nearby store. it was refillable: water, ice, milk all you want! and it tastes good. enough to quench your thirst for you to enjoy the other activities under the sun.
and by the way the store is owned by a popular hotel in Palawan "The Legend Palawan" they also had this "oh so yummy!" banana bread. the whole loaf of banana bread is like P140 and it weighs like 8lbs. and I'm not exaggerating. So if ever you drop by Pandan Island, make sure you take home one of these yummy bread.

The store where the Halo-Halo and the amazing banana bread can be found |
 |
hahaha! ok we get it. you can climb |
 |
after the first aid.. still posing for pictures. |
 |
Too much picture taking eh? |
Ok, I guess there's been too much playing for us. Still thankful that this is the only thing that happened to my friend. We we're told to dip into the salt water in cases like these for some healing reasons, I'm not familiar with that but people we're telling my friend to do so, why hesitate, it's just water anyway. Then we found this nice creature near the shore.
 |
Hey! It's Patrick! |
after that we decided to rest a bit then go home since it's already 4 in the afternoon. They don't actually allow visitors to stay in any of the islands later than 4:30pm. Well, Yes you can stay later than that, but just in case something happens to you or to anyone. You will be held responsible and not the tourist guides nor the people of Palawan. Safety always comes first for them. One reason probably because late afternoon is when the tides go up and it's the time when the waters are kinda stressed, for lack of a better term.
