Sun Cellular's Blackberry Add-on Service activation.. NOT!

I recently bought a blackberry for the purpose of having the blackberry Internet service (BIS)
bbm (blackberry messenger) - you can exchange messages with any blackberry device anytime, anywhere.
push email - receive messages on your from your webmail directly to your phone.
and yeah, you can browse fb, twitter, and other social networking sites as well as some instant messengers like ym, msn and the likes.
simply means your online. all the time..
i have friends and relatives outside PH who owns a BB and in this way i could keep in touch with them.. all the time.
lets cut to the chase.
i got myself a bb phone.
tried Globe telecoms’s BIS service and it registered me to BIS in less than 5 minutes after texting “BB ON 50” sent it to 8888.
getting to experience it for the first time was really really cool.
replying to fb notifications, replying to my ym messages, talking to my friends outside PH while I'm inside the train, riding a cab, in a jeepney.. well literally anywhere.. it’s like I'm on wifi wherever i go.
as the saying goes ” sana nka wifi na ang buong pilipinas
so it was fun.
so it expired last Saturday.
had my brother go to The Sun Shop to have my BIS activated with sun last Saturday Sept 4 2010.
ok they said to give it 24 hours for it to be activated.
24 hours went by.. crap nothing happened.
called customer service next day (after 24 hours of waiting)the rep said my concern is being escalated and should be ok within the day.
called in again after a couple of hours of waiting.the rep simply asked me if there has been an incident number created for it.
so i simply said i called earlier but no number was given to me nor texted to me.
the rep provided me the incident number and said she will escalate and i should wait for the next 24 hours more.
called in today (Sept 6 2010)
the rep said that it has been escalated to the concerned department. but there has been no response to my request. and its for activation according to her.
hmm.. i tried google and bumped into this shutterbug blog..
wow!
maybe sun isn’t really blackberry ready..
same reason why i wanted to use sun’s Blackberry add on service is because I wanted to save
P999 with Sun BIS add-on over Globe and Smarts P1200.
I'm going out of town this week and I don’t want to ruin it because of sun’s crappy service. I'm going to get Globe’s prepaid BIS service instead.
If they can’t do it at the very least they should provide the correct TAT (turnaround time)
setting the correct expectation is the key for a satisfied customer.
I have had issues with my internet connection with Bayantel recently and they always set the correct TAT, they even managed to come in earlier than expected to check on the problem I was having.
it’s been seven days already and still no word from Sun Cellular. called them up this afternoon and all they have to say is that there’s still no reply from the request they did submit regarding my concern for BIS be activated on my account.
got a little bit irate with the customer rep. though I apologized since it’s not her fault.
besides my globe sim that i registered using BB ON 50 sent to 8888
I also tried my dad's Smart sim. registered by texting BB DAY sent to 2207
both we're successful in getting me connected to BIS.
so it means that there is no problem with my phone registering it with any network.
